LIBRARY & INFORMATION CENTRE

The library is open to all the students of the college.
It is kept open from 9 a.m to 5 p.m on all working days.
Two books can be borrowed at a time for a period of two weeks. Books can however be renewed provided they are not required by any other student. The period of extension will normally be a week from the date on which the request for renewal is made.
Students shall, on receiving books, examine them and report to the Librarian any damage found therein. If they fail to do so they will be held responsible for such damage as may be detected afterwards.
Students should not write, underline or make any mark upon any
book belonging to the Library or cause any damage.
Loss of books shall be promptly reported to the Librarian.Compensation for books lost or found in any way damaged or defaced must be paid according to the Librarian’s estimated loss.
Strict silence shall be maintained in the Library and reading room.
Students shall not sub-lend the books of the Library to any person whomsoever.
Each book overdue will incur an over due charge of fifty paise per day if a book is kept beyond the period allowed.
Any infringement of the rule may lead to the forfeiture of the privilege
to use Library.
 A modest Library set up in 1973 has evolved into a magnificent structure holding 16,044 books on various subjects. The Library is housed in a permanent building. This Building has been exclusively designed and constructed for the Library with the financial assistance of the University Grants Commission. The plinth area of the Library is 2400 sq. feet.

The Library started functioning with 400 volumes of books during the year 1968-69 and over the years books have been added and now it has 17,284 books and journals on the following subjects. (Refer Table)
